Indian Rice & Lentils

Ingredients

2 cups Basmati Rice
1 cup Split Pea Red Lentils

1 Cinnamon Stick
3 Cardamon Pods
2 tsp Ground Turmeric
1 Red Chilli
4 cups Water
1 tsp Sea Salt

Add all the ingredients to a medium saucepan over a low heat, pop a lid on allow the rice to cook away for around 12-15 minutes, stir a couple of times. After about 12 minutes most of the water should have evaporated, if it has turn off the heat and leave the lid on. Set the rice aside for 5 minutes before serving.
